THE absolute authority on lesbian (and gay) travel. From travel guides to tour listings, special events to regional and local links, this is the place to go. This site is so staggeringly thorough, it pretty much killed my ambition to have a page on regional links -- Damron's already done it, and in much more depth than I could ever manage. Check them out, wherever you are.

Fun, extensive site, includes forums and chatroom, a dating service, advice on books and music as well as just general, all-purpose advice :) ... Check them out!

Girlfiend Lesbian Clothing Company
Another hard-to-categorize site, primarily a clothing store (duh! :) but with some other fun stuff to do as well. Check out the laugh-out-loud schizophrenic VirginSlut advice column!

Hercurve
"Erotic community for queer and transgendered women". Includes a forum, personals, a large selection of articles and erotic fiction, and more.

Out in the Open with Kimmy
"More then a talk show, Out in the Open with Kimmie is an advocacy venue for the lesbian and gay civil rights movement. Out in the Open airs on TheNetLive.com weekdays from 11:00am-1:00pm (PT). Hosted by lesbian partners Kimmie and Pamma, the program offers experienced counsel, lively discussions and real-world stories about the issues facing lesbian women and gay men who want to face their lives out in the open. Not only is the program for the lesbian and gay community, but a program for people who are open to human diversity. Show topics have ranged from adultery, honesty, spirituality and transgenderism, to the media, organized religions, sex and human relationships."

Hartas: Lesbianas Latinas This site is no longer active.
Entirely in Spanish, dedicated to the latina members of the lesbian community (or, I suppose, the lesbian members of the latina community, depending on how you look at it :)

Domestic Violence Among Lesbians This site is no longer active.
A page dedicated to correcting misconceptions about the nature of abusive lesbian relationships, including some advice on how to get help.

Rainbow Hope This site is no longer active.
"Online Support Group for Lesbian Survivors of Abuse and their Partners." A fairly extensive series of pages, not all focused on lesbian domestic violence. Definitely sports the 'Geocities home page' trademark look, and thus may be more accessible to other survivors from a "been there" perspective. Includes a forum and chatroom.

tribinteractive This site is no longer active.
Wasn't sure where to catagorize this one: a site dedicated to the practice of tribadism, including techniques, surveys, and even a history of the word! WARNING: some rather explicit photos and writings on this site.

Scarleteen
Not specifically lesbian-oriented, but one of the absolute best sites out there for learning about your sexuality. This is the kind of sex ed they *ought* to be teaching in high school. The area dealing with gay/les/bi issues in particular can be found here.

Young and Lesbian
A very informative guide for teens, including a link to stories from other teens, as well as links to other issues of young sexuality not specifically lesbian related.

Organizations

The Mautner Project
For Lesbians With Cancer. "Founded in 1990, The Mautner Project is [a] national organization dedicated to lesbians with cancer, their partners and caregivers." Unfortunately, as of this writing their calendar of events hasn't been updated since October of 2000, so the site may no longer be actively maintained.

BLSG: Black Lesbian Support Group
"The primary mission of BLSG is provide peer support through positive and stimulating bi-monthly group discussions geared toward addressing the needs of the Black Lesbian community." Based in Washington D.C.

An Uncommon Legacy Foundation
"The whole idea about Legacy is to invest in our lesbian community's future. The recipients of Legacy funds and scholarships are one day going to give back to the community - either economically or by providing their services."

ULOAH: United Lesbians of African Heritage
A rather minimal site that, as of this writing, doesn't seem to have been updated yet in 2001. Still, offers contact info and a bit more about this black lesbian-based organization.

POWER-UP: Professional Organization of Women in Entertainment Reaching UP
"The organization for gay women in entertainment, arts, and all forms of media." Founded in December of 2000.

OLOC: Old Lesbians Organizing for Change
"OLOC provides old lesbians with the chance to meet like-minded women in our common struggle to confront ageism, to share mutual interests, and to experience the joy and warmth of playing and working together."

Astraea Lesbian Action Foundation
"Astraea's programs benefit lesbians, all women and girls, gay men, bisexual and transgendered individuals both in the United States and internationally, and work to eliminate all forms of oppression and exploitation, to advance the economic, political, educational and cultural well-being of lesbians."

LHRC: Lesbian Health Resource Center This site is no longer active.
"The Lesbian Health Resource Center works to visibly and actively promote the health and well-being of the diverse community of lesbians and women who partner with women and improve our health care through education, advocacy, resources and referrals." Based in the North Carolina Triangle area.

NBLBW: The Network for Battered Lesbians and Bisexual Women This site is no longer active.
Informative (and bilingual!), but unfortunately not updated since 1999.
